Map Info
New England and Nova Scotia, towards the end of the Nineteenth Century. Based off a folk song, Farewell to Nova Scotia, the bittersweet parting worry wraps around the waves, as the ship sets sail. Original is ink and illustration marker on watercolor paper, 11 x 15. Prints are available true to size, as well as scaled to traditional sizes for ease of framing.
Note: If printed in smaller sizes, words may not be readable.
Artist's Note
I grew up in a Traditional Music environment, and my back up plan is still "cut my hair and run away to sea," should things get to be too much. But, if I go, I know I would wonder, "When I am far away on the briny ocean tossed, will you ever heave a sigh or a wish for me?"
