Map Info
The ballad of Tam Lin, set in Scotland, tells the story of two worlds living side by side which only rarely interract. The upper and lower halves depict the same place. The upper is from a Human perspective (roads, cities, etc) and the lower is from a Fae perspective (rivers, trees, hills, etc). The original is ink and illustration marker on watercolor paper, 22 x 30. Prints are available true to size, but also scaled down to traditional sizes for ease of framing.
Note: If printed in smaller sizes, words may not be readable.
Artist's Note
The events of Tam Lin are set in motion by the plucking of a rose. The border around the top half is a very stylized rose, such as would decorate a church. As the map transitions from Human to Fae, the roses become less stylized and more realistic, but also more threatening. At the very bottom, the eyes of the Fairy Queen watch all.
